James Alexander Design is a design studio and consultancy located just outside London, led by James Clark. Having qualified in architecture and with over a decade of experience in the industry, our passion lies in the rental market across the United Kingdom. We specialise in the build-to-rent, co-living, student accommodation, private rental, and hotel sectors.

We design environments for people to live their lives, with a strong emphasis on the interior design of both private and shared spaces. Our goal is to create places that people want to experience and form a community. We believe that enhancing an individual’s life through creative, beautiful, and functional spaces is highly rewarding and hold the belief that architectural, interior, and landscape design are only successful when they are coherently designed as a whole. Consequently, our approach is open and collaborative with the wider teams we may be working with.

Over the years, we have undertaken projects that encompass a diverse range of parameters, varying from a minimum of 20 to over 700 individual private spaces. These spaces span multiple typologies within the rental market. Additionally, we’ve designed a comprehensive array of shared spaces, including cinema rooms, lounges, kitchens, and roof terraces. Within the specific constraints of each building, our primary objective is to optimise and fully utilise the allocated spaces, thereby creating industry-leading rental solutions.
